Cherrie on Top, Ton at the Bottom

What makes an idea great?

The recently concluded Great Ideas Project, which featured faculty members from different colleges in UP Diliman, made possible the interaction of various disciplines in the University through online surveys and polls involving the studentry. That is one great idea.

Chei and Ton shared their "great ideas" with Prof. Peter Sy, Director of Diliman Interactive Learning Center (DILC) and had a great time exploring how even the littlest ideas can be great.

Makuha Ka sa Titig!

It's the first day of classes. You enter a room, grabbed a chair and made yourself comfortable. Then a cute guy or girl takes the chair beside yours, then smiles at you charmingly. Suddenly, you find yourself exchanging curious glances with him or her in the next 60 minutes.

Yes, you may be flirting.

Chei and Ton capped the first season of Psych O'Clock Habit by sharing their thoughts and insights about "flirting" and "nonverbal exchanges". Excited much?

Halina, sali na sa aming titigan...

Masarap biglain, masarap ding dahan-dahanin!

Is there really a "tried-and-tested" way to woo or court someone? Whether it's "The Fast and the Furious" or "The Never Ending Story" for you, you can never really tell. Perhaps the best thing to do is simply enjoy the excitement and perks of such romantic beginnings.

On our twelfth episode, Prof. Hudson Go joined our fun conversation about courtship (not to mention touching gender-relevant aspects too.)

O halika, lapit na...

Isara ang ibinuka

Closing things can sometimes be more difficult than opening them—a soda in can or a beer bottle, a gift wrapped carefully with laces and ribbons, a sealed envelope, a cut or wound, or love. Ironically, sometimes, what we just need is openness to realize closure.

We invited Prof. Divine Love Salvador, also from the Department of Psychology, to grace the grand finale of our love episodes and share her thoughts on falling in and out of love, closure, and moving on.

Itinutok pero hindi pumasok!

Sometimes, we find it too easy to fall in love. What hurts really is when we give our all to that one person, but we still don't get anything in return. Not even answers. Ouch.

But before we feel that our feelings are already put to waste, let's listen first to what our dear friend Prof. Eric Manalastas has to say about unrequited love. Perhaps, what we need is just some dose of reality check and... laughter! : )

Hindi lang sa una masakit...

Where do broken hearts go? How can you mend a broken heart? Or perhaps we should ask, have you tried fixing a broken heart? These aren't only lines from our favorite sentimental love songs, but are actually questions that we ask ourselves when we experience a true-to-life breakup.

We invited Dr. Violeta "Bolet" Bautisa to share with us some answers and lessons to help us understand heartbreak and forgiveness.

Ang sarap lumikha!

CREATIVITY PART 1

Some say that creativity is like supernatural powers — everyone has it, but only some use it extraordinarily. Sounds like an intro to a superhero comic book? Well, we do believe that creativity saves the world; without it we're in danger of boredom and stagnation.

Let's meet our guest Prof. AJ Galang and find out what extraordinary things he has to say about creativity and how we can maximize our potential.

"To infinity... creativity and beyond!"

Sa bibig, sa kamay... ang husay!

CREATIVITY PART 2

We talked about the creative process during our first episode on Creavitity — and had so much fun! Now here's our promise to interview a creative person and find out how somebody like him enjoys being called "creative".  So brace yourselves, and meet... Jeff Agustin AND FRIENDS!

Visit www.sikat.findhere.org and meet the talented members of UP Sirkulo ng mga Kabataang Artista (UP SIKAT), a young and vibrant organization mentored by Jeff Agustin (as Artistic Director). UP SIKAT is the only theater and performing arts organization in the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP), UP Diliman. Its brand of performing draws inspiration from Sikolohiyang Pilipino, popular culture, and the social sciences.

Isang silip sa Titik O!

Why do most people describe the "BIG O" as something "great", "exhilarating" or sometimes even "simply indescribable"? We just can't help but get curious. So who says we can't talk about the "BIG O" on air? We invited our dear friend Prof. Eric Manalastas to give us tips on how to understand and enjoy that "BIG O" — whatever that means. : )

Handa na ba tayong sumilip... sa Titik O? OOhh...

Aray! 'Wag dyan, 'wag 'yan!

When was the last time you secretly did something because you were too afraid that others might find out? It really felt good, right? ... or wrong?

We invited our dear friend Dr. Margie Holmes to share her thoughts on things that people do and feel good about but may be "wrong" or "taboo" — not to mention the excitement of talking about some sizzling hot experiences again. ;)

So, masarap ba talaga ang bawal? Let's find out...

We would like to thank Dr. Margie Holmes for gracing our program as our guest host. We love you Dr. Margie! (For more information about her works, please visit her website: www.margaritaholmes.com)

Quickie thoughts on flirting...

Pinadala 'to sa 'tin ng isa sa mga listeners natin. What do you think? Post your comments below :)

The most powerful of suggestions are those which leave a lot to the imagination. Creating in the mind an entire universe of possible outcomes without being inhibited with the actual intention of the person, the non-verbal flirtation co-exists with ambiguity, which we all may know from experience, may either be good or not.

The vaguer, the better. However, it shall not be without context lest it is derogated of potency. There has to be a build up. It should emerge from a series of mini-flirtations until it climaxes into the one most approximate that which the other persons secretly screams for. Flirting is listening to what the other person secretly yearns for and slightly deviating from what is expected and almost giving him/her something way better. Almost being the operative word since you have to leave him/her asking for more. Yes, it’s cruel; but the art of flirting is premised in the notion that the one who cares/gives less holds the power in these kinds of transactions.

On another note, words are not left without any use. As powerful as non-verbal cues, you could have the other person cringe for you if words are used and delivered creatively. There are words laden with value but don’t have absolute meanings; or if they seemingly do, work on a different context which gives it an entirely different and sexy innuendo. The simplest of verbal exchange can be the best orgasm you’ll have if employed with impeccable timing, creativity, and yes, ambiguity.
